Please be patient. God is not through with me yet. We read these words or initials on bumper stickers and t-shirts. God is in the process of reshaping us to be what He planned in the first place.

Our neighbor’s yard resembles a mini misplaced Lake Superior shoreline. Huge rocks, boulders, are piled in the middle of a sand pile. The owner has turned over all visible grass and substituted stone. His former dried-up lawn looked like Pine Hurst compared to this.

Day after day the owner worked, shoving sand here, heaving rock there.

After a few weeks, change! His property looked like “Better Homes and Gardens” on display. There was green grass, petunias softening the gray stones, and organization of the big rocks. Transformation.

God is the original gardener with a design for each of us. How comforting to know that we can be changed into His master plan. We may have a temptation or addiction out of control. God promises He’ll give a way out. We may have stopped worshiping, or praying. God says “Come!”

And, what if we have never told Him we love Him, and asked Jesus to be Savior and Lord? God will respond with the angels in song! He’s in the reclaiming business.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Please redesign my life. For Jesus’ sake. Amen.
