Read: Genesis 50:12-21
Joseph had a rough life. One day life was going wonderfully for him and the next he was in a well and then in a filthy prison. Joseph’s roller coaster life all started when his brothers sold him to merchants. Then he was sold again to Potiphar, a high official in Egypt. Through some unpleasant circumstances, Joseph wound up as the ruler of all Egypt.
We just read the account of when Joseph reassured his brothers that he was not angry at them for selling him into slavery. I can imagine Joseph’s brothers were pretty scared as they stood before Joseph, the ruler of all of Egypt. Joseph surprised them! Instead of being angry, he was very kind to them. Why didn’t Joseph get angry at his brothers? It was because Joseph saw that God had worked everything out for good.
I have seen that God is working everything out for the best in my life, as He did in Joseph’s life. My disability is an unpleasant circumstance, but God is using my situation for His good. My favorite verse is Romans 8:28, “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Throughout this month, I hope I have helped you to realize that God can take any circumstance of life and turn it into something for His glory. —Steve Laman
