God Became a Human Being

READ : John 1:9-18 Having told us about this unique person, the Word, who is God and yet is with God (the Father), John tells us that the Word became flesh (v. 14). God the Son, the Word, became a human being. At the same time He remained God. This child in the manger, Jesus, is a unique person, He is both God and man. He is the only one in all the world who can bridge the gap between a holy God and finite sinful persons. This is the difference between the Christian faith and all religions. The Christian faith tells us of the only one in a posi- tion to rescue us from all evil. Everybody ought to know, everybody ought to know, everybody ought to know who Jesus is. Are you doing everything possible to tell them? Are you giving generously to the mission of proclaiming this message to a desperately needy world?

Sad to say, this Jesus has been rejected by many. “He came to his own home, and his own people received him not” (v. 11). Have you accepted Him as your Savior and Lord? Why not now, why not now, why not come to Jesus now? Those who do believe in Him receive a tremen- dous blessing. “To all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God” (v. 12). This child in the manger is the unique Son of God. Only through Him we can be God’s children. PRAYER

Father, work powerfully in the hearts of those who read these words, that they may believe in Christ. In His name. Amen.
