READ : Psalm 19:1-14
The day was dark and stormy with fierce winds and heavy rain. We turned on the lights, but then the electricity went off. The refrigerator shut off and I needed to shop for food. I contemplated and prayed about whether or not to go, and decided to venture out.
When I returned from the store, the sun was peeking from under the clouds and the electricity was on again. As I put away the food, I thanked God for His wonderful provision. Then, as I glanced out the window, I noticed a beautiful azure sky with floating pink clouds. I stood amazed as the clouds floated together, forming a perfect cross. As I watched it broke up into small fluffy particles and floated away.
Many times I watch the sky and revel in its beauty. “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands” (Ps. 19:1). Some day the Lord is coming again and I wonder what the sky will look like then? Today we see only reflections, but then what we see will be real and unimaginable. I pray that all of us will be ready.
“They will see the Son of Man coming . . . with power and great glory” (Matt. 24:30). It is beyond our present comprehension, but what a glorious day that will be!
May the words of our mouths and the meditation of our hearts be pleasing in Your sight, O Lord, our Redeemer. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
