READ : Psalm 119:9-16
I remember the little choruses we used to sing in Sunday school. They were always sung with joy and eagerness. One of my favorites was “Everyday with Jesus.” Jesus was precious to me as a child, and now, as an adult, He is still the joy of my life. But it all started in Sunday school. If you are a parent, see to it that your children are involved in the educational program of your church.
Our Bible verses for today tell how a young person can keep his or her way pure by living according to God’s Word. If we seek God with our whole heart it will keep us from sinning against Him. Our children and youth need to learn these truths. The headlines in the newspapers tell us how they commit crimes and revel in them. Many do not know the difference between right and wrong. Is there a neighbor child you could bring to Sunday school?
It’s important we raise our children in the ways of the Lord. The foundation for this is to have a Christian home where God’s love is practiced and the Bible read and where children are brought to church, Sunday school and other church activities. In a Christian home, God’s love will flow from you and pass on to your children. Only then will every day with Jesus be sweeter than the day before. What a joy to pass the faith on to the next generation!
Dear Lord, we pray for the children, the youth and families of our world today; they need Your salvation desperately. May what we say or do guide them to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
