God Loved the World So Much

READ : John 3:14-21

Most of us are familiar with the words of John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (kjv).

This verse is probably the most quoted verse in the Bible, and many can quote it from memory. It is the heart of the Bible, for it sums up all of salvation’s plan in just 25 words.

God loved and He gave! You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving. What a price He paid when He sent His Son into the world to die for our sins. Consider both the physical and emotional agony that Christ suffered at Calvary.

What if God had not sent His Son? The world would be in a sad plight without any hope. But that is not the case; He did send His Son and He invites all of us to come to Him because He loves us. Come to Him just as you are and receive Him as your Lord and Savior. This wonderful message is ours to receive and to share, for this love is the greatest love there ever was. Let us rejoice and be glad, and thank Him for these most wonderful gifts of all: His love and salvation.

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for the love that took You to the cross. It is a boundless love that has no end, for You died for our sins. May this speak to all of our hearts, so that we may share it with others. Amen.
