Ask and It Will be Given

READ : Matthew 7:7-11

For some time now I’ve been seeking answers to some strange and serious health problems that have plagued me for the last half of my life. Paul said, “We are pressed on every side by troubles, but not crushed and broken, we are perplexed because we don’t know why things happen as they do” (2 Cor. 4:8a, lb). Also, “These bodies of ours are constantly facing death” (2 Cor. 4:10a, lb).

How well I know this to be true, for serious things do happen. Thirty-five years ago I lost my hearing. Seven years ago I came close to losing my eyesight. I almost lost my ability to walk and I continue to have a problem with balance. Yet I know God is in complete control, no matter what may happen.

Many today are afflicted with different maladies. We are taught to keep on going no matter what may happen; to rehabilitate ourselves through any help available. Our greatest help is from the Lord through prayer. We need only plug into this source of power, for it is the strongest force in the world. He will help us in every situation.

God always works it out for our good, and gives us the patience to go on. And in His own time and way, He answers our prayers. His ways are always perfect. Believe that. It is true!

Father, we have asked and You have given over and over. We have sought and found You willing and waiting to help us and we are grateful. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
