READ : Matthew 17:14-21
“For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you” (v. 20).
Jesus often witnesses to “the God of the impossible.” After healing the boy with a demon, He speaks of small faith able to move mountains (Mt. 17:20). When the rich man comes to Jesus to inquire about how to get eternal life, Jesus replies, “With men, this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible (Mark 10:27, 19:26). And when Mary wondered how she could bear a son, the angel replied, “Nothing is impossible with God” (Luke 1:37).
It proved impossible also, for death to hold Christ (Luke 18:27). Finally, the author to Hebrews indicates, “It is impossible for God to lie” (Heb. 6:18). God is faithful! We begin in all our praying with this confidence and interpret our lives in the light of all things being possible with Him!
Faith, mighty faith, the promise sees,
And looks to God alone.
Laughs at impossibilities
And cries, “it shall be done.”
Laughs at impossibilities,
And cries, “it shall be done!”
Dear God, thank You that nothing is impossible for You. Help me to trust You fully. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
