You Alone Are God

READ : Psalm 86:1-11

In Psalm 86, King David provides a helpful model for our daily prayers for the world’s least evangelized peoples. He begins by humbly acknowledging his need for the Lord’s protection and mercy (vv. 1-3). David affirms the Lord’s faithful promise to answer the petitions of all who call to Him (vv. 5-7). He then proclaims the Lord’s exclusive divinity: “Among the gods there is none like you” (v. 8) and “You alone are God” (v. 10). In faith, David triumphantly declares: “All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord; they will bring glory to your name” (v. 9).
David’s inspired prediction in this verse is gradually becoming reality, but is not yet fully accomplished. Achieving this should be every believer’s earnest prayer. It’s the compelling reason for which many churches and ministries like Words of HOPE exist.

Among those nations (distinct ethnic groups) who remain largely unaware of the gospel are Indonesia’s Sundanese, Madurese, Sasak, and Balinese peoples. Millions of Christians around the world are praying today for these isolated peoples three of whom are predominantly Islamic, and one (the Balinese) Hindu. Petition the Lord of the harvest to send evangelists and church- planters into their midst to share the saving good news of the true God who is truly worthy of their everlasting worship and praise.

Hasten the day, O Lord, when all nations glorify You. Amen.
