READ : Romans 10:1-4
We conclude this month of Praying Through the Window III by interceding for the world’s 15 million Jews, as well as four hard-to-reach Eurasian peoples: the Albanians (of Albania and Yugoslavia), the Bosnians (of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, and Montenegro), the Caucasians (scattered throughout the Caucasus mountain region of Eastern Europe and Central Asia), and Russia’s Siberians. Pray for gospel outreach currently underway to these varied peoples. Petition the Holy Spirit to lead them to the true and lasting peace that faith in Jesus Christ provides.
In today’s two passages from Romans, Paul confirms God’s promise to redeem all peoples Gentiles and Jews alike: “‘Rejoice, O Gentiles, with his people . . . sing praises to him, all you peoples’” (15:10-11). Paul particularly stresses that his “heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved” (10:1). In becoming the hope of the Gentiles as well as a truthful servant of the Jews, Jesus Christ has confirmed the glorious promises God made to Israel’s patriarchs.
Pray regularly for the salvation of the groups of peoples mentioned this month, believing that God will redeem everyone who believes in Jesus. “Trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (15:13).
May all the world’s peoples worship Jesus Christ! Amen.
