"Will a child be born to a man 100 years old?"

Richard Huls

READ : Genesis 17:15-21

Impossible! How many times have we heard that word? People believed it was impossible for man to fly. It was considered impossible to build the Golden Gate Bridge. For Abraham, a man of one hundred years, it was impossible to father a child. Abraham knew this, so he asks the question, which is really a statement of the impossible.

Most of you have heard the expression of Jesus, “with God all things are possible” (Mark 9:23). This verse, against all opposition, opens the door to what God can do. People are limited by what they see, not by what God sees.

Our ability to believe the “impossible” is limited by our experience, people’s opinions and fear. Once we break these barriers, it is possible for the sinner to be saved, a failure to become a success, the lost to be found, the weak to become strong, the blind to see, the lame to walk, and the sad to become joyful. God likes nothing better than to take the impossible and turn it into the possible. Look at what he did in the death of Christ. He created life out of death. Trust God to work. By faith you too can give birth to miracles.

Lord, we trust you to make the impossible POSSIBLE. Amen.
