Partners in God's Great Plan

Tom Bartha

READ : Hebrews 12:1-3

Think of people who have encouraged you in your faith: a neighbor, a Sunday school teacher, a parent, pastor or friend. God uses all sorts of people to help us grow. Some are well-known, write wonderful books, or have books written about them. There are many more who will never be famous, yet who serve faithfully, influencing our lives and urging us to follow Jesus. These are partners in God’s great plan to bring people to a saving faith. This month we will be visiting several of the Bible’s lesser-known characters, men and women much like us. God used them mightily. Their stories call us to believe.

The eleventh chapter of Hebrews is a roll call of faithful believers. Listed are names of those who lived with a deep trust in God. Some learned that trust through amazing tests and experiences. We will visit with these remarkable people and others not listed in Hebrews 11 whose stories still excite us.

I believe you will enjoy our time with these faith partners. We’ll meet unique people. May their stories encourage us.

Heavenly Father, thank you that there are no minor characters in your eyes, and that we are all precious in your sight. Amen.
