He's Alive!

READ : Luke 24:1-8

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the center of Christianity. Because there was a first Easter we can move from being a seeker to a follower. Jesus claimed to be “the Resurrection and the Life.” He predicted that he would die and be raised again. It really happened! What a life-changing, world- changing event that was. And it has everything to do with us.

What a day that must have been. After a depressing and faith- shattering weekend, there was Sunday. “He is not here; he has risen!” Jesus conquered death. He declared, “Because I live, you also will live” (John 14:19). This event empowered the early Christian community with incredible courage in the face of impossible obstacles and terrifying threats.

How is life going for you? Have you committed your life to the living Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord? I well remember the summer of 1950. Even though I had the benefits of Christian parents, a Christian home, and Bible teaching, something was missing. I had the facts of the faith, but I was missing what was most important and necessary, a personal faith in Jesus. I could resist Jesus’ call no more. I chose to receive and follow him. That was the best decision I ever made! How about you?

PRAYER

Come, Lord Jesus, be my Savior and Lord. Amen.
