Bringing Others to Christ

Boris Becker, the popular tennis star, said, “I had won Wimbledon twice before, once as the youngest player. I was rich. I had all the material possessions I needed: money, cars, women, everything, but I had no peace.” The apostle Paul said people without Christ are “without hope and without God in the world” (Eph. 2:12). Everybody in this world needs Jesus, and God’s plan is that others will hear through us who know him.

There is a story in the Old Testament of four lepers sitting at the city gates of Samaria during a siege. Faced with starvation, they made a radical decision. They would take their chances in the camp of the enemy. They found the camp deserted. In the first tent they found food to eat, then carried away silver, gold, and clothes and hid them. Then their consciences bothered them. “We’re not doing right. This is a day of good news and we are keeping it to ourselves” (v. 9).

There are a lot of people in the country of Ecuador who do not know Jesus, also in the USA and all other countries. Our privilege is to share the Good News. That’s why we are here. “Christ’s love compels us” (2 Cor. 5:14). Who in your “personal world” needs to see and hear the Good News? Go, live, and tell!

: Lord, “lay some soul upon my heart, and love that soul through me.” Amen.
