READ : Psalm 65:1-13
One blessing from God is
“When we were overwhelmed by sins, you forgave our transgressions” (v. 3). Forgiveness is not for the indifferent, but for those who take their sins seriously. Believers who do that can be assured of forgiveness.
Another blessing is that of
fellowship with God
in worship. “Blessed are those you choose and bring near to live in your courts!” (v. 4a). Those who desire intimate fellowship with God can have it.
And there is the blessing of
God answers “Yes” or “No, I have something better in store for you.” We must pray in faith and also in surrender to God.
Years ago the doctor found a tumor in my bladder. He said he was going on vacation and would take care of it when he came back. I prayed for healing but also for grace to deal with it if healing was not God’s will. The doctor came back, checked and said that the tumor had disappeared. Later I had three blocked arteries in my heart. Again I prayed, but this time the Lord said, “I will heal you through surgery.” Pray in faith and surrender.
God also blesses by providing the
necessities of life.
“The streams of God are filled with water” (v. 9).
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Lord. Amen.
