What is Your Hope?

Scientists are doing some amazing research into repairing brain damage. I read they are working on implanting animal cells in the human brain to cure Parkinson’s disease. I hope some day a cure for cerebral palsy will even be possible!

Even if a cure never comes, I have a greater hope- Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul assures the Corinthians and us that Christ really did rise. Our Savior’s resurrection gives us hope for this life and beyond. It assures us that our sins have been paid for. Everything we have done wrong has been forgotten thanks to what Christ did on the cross. It guarantees eternal life and our bodily resurrection when Christ comes again. After his resurrection people still recognized Jesus. We will also be recognized and will know our loved ones who have died in Christ. After his son died, King David was confident that he would see him again, saying, “I will go to him, but he will not return to me” (2 Samuel 12:23, niv).

What do you hope for-a large inheritance, your stocks to go up, or good grades this semester? Maybe you are hoping for a cure to your disease or disability. None of these can compare to Jesus Christ, our greatest hope.

Lord, thank you for the resurrection of Christ. May all of my hopes rest in him. Amen.
