READ : 1 Corinthians 9:19-23
Deacon Lee was a loud, rather abrasive male orderly at our hospital. But he had deep faith and a great burden for Koreans who did not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. He gave up every weekend to evangelize and start churches in nearby villages.
If he discovered that we had American guests, he would often stop by and propose a project to start another village church. One village needed foot-powered rice threshers. Another village needed a pump organ for their new house-church. Still another needed to have all their children immunized. He was not bashful in asking for such things. He always said, “I’m a beggar for the Lord!” While he was an orderly at the hospital, he started six or seven churches in villages around Kwangju.
Paul was zealous in telling people about Jesus. He would do anything for them to win them to Christ.
Do we have a zeal for witnessing to others about our faith? God has forgiven our sins and made us fit for eternal life. We should be eager to share our experience with other people! May God give all of us that desire.
O Lord, we have been so nonchalant about our faith. Make our salvation so real that we cannot help but want to share it with as many people as we can. Amen.
