You must follow my example as I follow the example of Christ. (1 Corinthians 11:1 CEV)
I once witnessed about Christ to a young fellow Kenyan lady, Wairimu, who had just graduated from college. Wairimu seemed so indifferent to my gospel presentation to her. After I had finished she looked straight into my eye and said, “Pastor! If the Jesus you are telling me about is the same Jesus whom my father claims to believe in, then I prefer remaining a non- believer than believing in him.” Wairimu went ahead and explained to me how her father was mistreating his children and their mother also, yet he claimed to be a committed Christian and a “number-one” elder in the church.
A believer should always bear in mind that it is one thing to claim belief in Christ and very much another to live out that claim. As the saying goes, “Actions speak louder than words.” A lived-out Christian life bears witness to Christ more powerfully than aggressive person-to-person or door-to-door evangelism. Many parents and church leaders have led lives that contradict their claims. How sad and disappointing. The Lord calls on all of us to repent and to lead transformed lives that are sure to touch others significantly. – Symon Kiuta
Lord Jesus, help me to live a Christlike life!
