Optimism Pointer to Victory

Symon Kiuta

READ : Hebrews 12:1-3

Get rid of everything that slows us down. (v. 1 CEV)

Pessimism is the opposite of optimism. The Bible is against pessimism. When Christians are pessimistic they deny the power and faithfulness of God and the truth of the Bible. God has optimistic plans for his doubting people. “I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11 niv). “Do not fret-it leads only to evil” (Ps. 37:8 niv).

We should embrace a victorious attitude in all that we plan and do. Let God give the final word as he indicates in Proverbs 16:1 cev: “We humans make plans, but the Lord has the final word.” It is a yes, a solution and not a problem.

Although I have not carried out any research among our people, it is most evident that there are many more pessimistic than optimistic people especially among the African peoples, Christians included. Yet the opposite should always be true among Christians! What negative thoughts should you ignore today? – Symon Kiuta

Lord, help me to always acknowledge the fact that I am more than a conqueror as a partner with you!
