READ : John 12:44-50
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven . . . by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12 NIV)
Have you ever been lost? Really lost, where hope fades and panic sets in? We once lost our son Ben when he was two years old. We were picnicking, when we suddenly realized he wasn’t with the other children. My husband searched through trees while I ran along the beach. We reached the end of the park with no sign of him. Panic gave way to terror. We finally discovered him by a fence watching a train pass, oblivious to his lostness, or our distress.
In our world, most people are lost. The majority have never heard the way to life in Christ clearly explained, and most of these cannot hear because there is no one near enough to tell them. Yet the church continues to slumber.
Some teach that none will finally be lost, or that those who respond to the light they have will be saved. But if people can be saved without responding to Christ, why did he command us to preach the message of salvation to everyone? Scripture is clear – those who put their trust in Christ alone will be saved. Our task is clear!
On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.
