READ : Romans 10:14-15
As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.” (v. 15)
Did you know that Billy Graham has beautiful feet? So does Ravi Zacharias. And my pastor. I hope I do too. Anyone who preaches the good news of God’s saving grace has beautiful feet, says Paul, quoting Isaiah 52:7.
But the beauty of the feet of God’s messengers comes not from the size or shape of those feet, but from the message their owners carry. It’s a message that announces, “God saves.” It’s a message that announces, “God reigns.” You can’t get anything more beautiful than that!
No one can ever accept that message unless they first hear it. And no one will ever hear that message unless someone preaches it. Yes, good deeds are an important part of a Christian’s life, but no one is saved by good deeds alone. People need to hear the gospel. That is why God sends out speaking laborers into his harvest (see Matthew 9:37).
Is God calling you to become a bearer of the gospel of salvation? The church needs the brightest and the best of Christ’s followers to become evangelists, pastors, and teachers. Is God calling you to a lifetime of beautiful feet?
Lord Jesus, please send out laborers into your harvest. If you are calling me, I stand on my feet, ready to go. Amen.
