The new heaven and new earth, described in Revelation
21, refers to the eternal heaven
where risen and glorified believers will live with God
in a new creation. This new
creation will follow the second coming of Jesus Christ,
the resurrection of the dead, the
final judgment before the great white throne (Rev.
20:11-15), and the separation of the
righteous from the unrighteous (Matt. 25:31-34, 46).
The new creation will be the fulfillment of God’s
redemptive work, and those in the
present heaven will join with all believers to live
eternally with the Lord. We cannot

are made new. We can begin to be
ready for it.
We will think more about the new heaven and earth in
the days ahead – unless Jesus returns first! Today
could be the day when he comes again and the new
creation will come into being. If it is, are you
